The Learning Assistance Centre has a dual role. The office provides academic support for students and coordinates services for students with disabilities.
Students are welcomed and encouraged to drop in during our office hours. Appointments are required for many of our services. We are located in SC0003 (tunnel level of the Student Centre).
Academic Assistance
- Academic support for students through workshops and tutoring. The Centre helps students to succeed in their academic studies at Lakehead by complementing the lectures, tutorials, laboratories, practical sessions and personal help provided by Lakehead's professors.
Services for Students with Disabilities
- The Centre coordinates services and accommodations for students with disabilities. Academic accommodations are provided on the basis of documentation of a disability. All students must meet the essential learning outcomes for a course or program of study. It is the responsibility of students to make arrangements for the Centre's services.
